How can I translate my instant feedback into a different language?

In Writing Assignments, Discussion Assignments, and in Writing Lab, Packback gives you instant and actionable feedback to apply to your work. 

If you are looking to read Packback’s suggestions, alerts, and praise in a language other than English, you can select a language through a setting at the top of your Instant Feedback Panel.

How to select a different language for my instant feedback?

  1. At the top of your Instant Feedback Panel, you will find a setting labeled “Language”, which will display the current language your feedback is set to appear in.

  2. To change this language, click on the Edit icon to access a pop-up. Type in or scroll through the language field to locate the language you wish to translate to.

  3. Select “Translate Feedback” to reload your Instant Feedback into your selected language.

PLEASE NOTE: Our translations are auto-generated and may not be 100% accurate. Some words, phrases, or cultural nuances might be interpreted differently. Always double-check for important details or context!

ALSO NOTE: While most of the feedback and AI chat is translated for your convenience, some elements remain in English due to platform limitations.

How can I quickly change my feedback to English without changing the translation setting?

Wherever translation occurs, you will see a language toggle switch. Interact with this tool to quickly switch back and forth between the translation and the original English.

Using this toggle will only affect the translation of the feedback you’re interacting with. If you wish to change the translation generally, return to the “Feedback” tab and edit the language setting again.

How does my instant feedback language setting affect the Chat feature?

If your instructor has turned on Advanced AI features in your community, you will have access to a “Chat” tab within your instant feedback.

Chats will begin in the language you have selected and will not translate if you switch languages. If you wish to chat in a different language, you can adjust the language setting in the feedback tab.
