For Admin: Enabling Packback Sendback in Canvas

Packback Sendback allows instructors to leverage Packback’s advanced Originality Fingerprint directly within the Canvas workflow. This integration works seamlessly with the Canvas assignment set-up progress and Speedgrader, requiring no separate Packback community setup or external login. Institutions must have an enterprise contract with Packback in order to use this feature.

NOTE: The Document Processor in Canvas has not been released yet for General Availability (as of January 2026). It is planning for a February release, as shown here. Prior to the release, if you would like to use the Packback Sendback feature, you must reach out to Canvas support to have your institution added to the feature flag group. After general availability, since this is a new feature, there could be changes or updates to the flows, so it’s a good idea to regularly review Canvas’ Deploy Notes and Community guides.
