Your Writing Process Report: What It Shows and How to Use It

(BETA) Currently available to Early Access users; full launch expected Spring 2026.

What Is the Writing Process Report?

This report gives you a window into your own writing process — how you planned, drafted, and revised your work, so you and your instructor can see the effort behind your final submission.

Why It Matters

This comprehensive report is designed to assist you in showcasing the dedication, unique perspective, and development you have exhibited throughout your entire writing journey. It highlights the progress you have made, the distinctive voice you have cultivated, and the consistent effort you have invested in honing your craft over time.

Where to Find It

The Writing Process Report appears on a Deep Dive submission page. It complements the Originality Report by visualizing the writing process, showing how you approached, revised, and reflected on your writing.

How to Read It

Each phase represents a different part of your writing process:

Viewing or generating the Originality Report, Opening reflection chats like “Build My Self-Awareness” or “Understand My Writing Process”, Viewing praise feedback in any category, Adding a comment to your submission

Using the Comment Box on Your Submission

The comment on your submission is a space for you to share context about your writing process and help your instructor understand how you approached the assignment. You can use it to reflect on your process, clarify how you used external tools, or give additional insight into anything shown in your Writing Process Report or Originality Fingerprint.

Some examples of how you might use this space:

  • If your Writing Process Report looks short:
“I did most of my outlining on paper before drafting in Packback.”
  • If you drafted in another tool:
“I wrote my first draft in Google Docs, then moved it into Packback to revise.”
  • If your Originality Fingerprint shows something unexpected and you want to explain your process:
“I used AI to brainstorm ideas, but all wording is my own,” or “I relied heavily on these two sources—here’s how I used them."
  • If there’s anything else you want your instructor to know:
“Here’s what I found challenging in this assignment,” or “Here’s what changed most during revision.”

This comment is meant to support transparency and communication between you and your instructor. Feel free to use it to share anything about your assignment, your writing process, or your reports.

Other important notes:

  • You can add your comment on the submission page, directly above your report.
  • You can update or edit your comment at any time until your instructor begins to grade your assignment.
  • Your comment is private between you and your instructor.
