Your paper’s title section is an important part of formatting, and Packback Deep Dives makes it easy to create one that matches the style your instructor requires, whether MLA, APA, or Chicago style. This guide will walk you through creating, editing, and viewing your title section.
Creating a Title Section
-
Check Your Assignment Style
Your instructor sets the required style when creating the assignment rubric. You can see the style in the real-time feedback sidebar. -
Open the Title Section Tool
Go to the editor toolbar:
Page Elements → Title Section3. Fill Out the Form
- Depending on your essay’s style, some fields may not be required.
- Enter the necessary information, such as your name, course, instructor, and date (if required).
4. Confirm Your Title Section
- Click Confirm and Packback will automatically create a properly formatted title section for your paper.
- Title sections will be formatted according to the style of essay you are writing. If you are writing an MLA style paper, this tool will create a title heading. If you are writing an APA or Chicago style paper, this tool will create a title page.
Your title section will appear in the editor, document preview, and .docx download.
Editing or Removing a Title Section
- To make changes, simply click on your title section in the editor.
- You can edit any information or remove the title section entirely.
Important Notes
- Your title section appears in your editor but does not count toward your word count.
- Feedback rules are not applied to your title section.
Instructor Grading
- Instructors see your title section just as you do in the editor.
- They can also view it in Document Preview and in the .docx download.
- Instructors can comment directly on the title section while grading other parts of your paper.
