Schoology LTI 1.3 Integration for Admins

In this article, you will find step-by-step instructions for an LTI 1.3 integration in Schoology to add your developer app and install the app on your account.


Before beginning this process, please reach out to help@packback.co to obtain the unique JWKS URL for your Schoology integration.

 

Step 1 of 2: Add the Developer App

  1. Head to https://app.schoology.com/apps/publisher and select Add App to open the publisher page 
  2. Enter the following app data:
    • App Name: Packback LTI 1.3
    • Description: Packback tools
    • Category: Select any appropriate app category
    • Available for: Only people in my school (This is very important!)
      • Check the box for “This app uses cookies”
    • Type of App: LTI 1.3 app
    • Can be installed for: External Tool - check box
    • Configuration Type: Manual
    • Privacy: Send Name and Email/Username of user who launches tool
    • LTI Advantage Extensions:
      • Deep Linking- do not check box
      • Assignment and Grade Services- check box
      • Names and Roles Services- check box
  3. Enter the following URLs: 
  4. Click on the checkbox next to “This application meets the Schoology Terms of Use”.
  5. Click Submit to create the app.
  6. After adding this info you will be sent to the App Profile page. Click on the “Options” dropdown, then “API Info”. Gather your app’s client ID. You will be sending this to Packback support

Step 2 of 2: Install the App

  1. Head to https://app.schoology.com/apps/publisher and locate Packback LTI 1.3
  2. Click Install LTI 1.3 App
  3. Click I Agree to the terms to continue with the installation.
  4. Click Add to Organization. You will be sent to Organization Apps to continue the installation.
  5. Click Install/Remove displayed next to the app title.
  6. Check All Courses or the units you would like to access the tool then click Submit
  7. Click Configure next to the app. Gather the deployment ID and send it along with the Client ID from Step 1 to help@packback.co

Once Packback support has confirmed that entered your client and deployment IDs, the tool will be available to use in a course.
